June 22 (BCN) — A 73-year-old driver and a bicyclist on parole have been arrested following a road-rage incident in San Francisco Wednesday night in which an innocent woman was shot, police said today.

Police believe John Ek, a 73-year-old San Francisco man, was driving on Embarcadero and Brannan streets when he and a bicyclist began arguing with each other. As the argument got more heated, the bicyclist, Damien Silva, allegedly smashed into the passenger-side window of Ek's white Dodge Neon, according to police.

Ek allegedly pulled out a gun and fired at Silva but missed and instead shot a woman who had been jogging nearby, police Sgt. Neville Gittens said.

I've been told that the person shot was an attorney. Sucks to get shot while you're jogging.

I have just found out that I will be visiting your fair city (for the first time evah) in a few weeks!! I am so excited I can barely contain myself. Anyhoo, if you like, it might be nice to see a few of you while I am there.
