One could argue that Cindy and the left-wing propaganda machine behind her are doing this every single day.
But that would be unfair, some others may say.

Ty, Move On and David Duke all agree! With all that brain power coming together how could they be wrong. Read the article, hateful though it is, as it shows the anti-semitism that is behind all of the peace movement. Ty and them aren't anti- semites for sure. they are however being duped by them.
- Why Cindy Sheehan is Right!
By David Duke
Cindy Sheehan, a mother who lost a son in the Iraq War, is determined to prevent other mothers and fathers from experiencing the same loss.
Courageously she has gone to Texas near the ranch of President Bush and braved the elements and a hostile Jewish supremacist media to demand a meeting with him and a good explanation why her son and other’s sons and daughters must die and be disfigured in a war for Israel rather than for America.
Recently, she had the courage to state the obvious that her son signed up in the military to protect America not to die for Israel.
In a recent letter to “Nightline,” she wrote the following hard-hitting words:
Am I emotional? Yes, my first born was murdered. Am I angry? Yes, he was killed for lies and for a PNAC Neo-Con agenda to benefit Israel. My son joined the Army to protect America, not Israel.

Yes, they're the one's comparing a dead soldier's mother to the Scarecrow.
I haven't really followed this (non)story, but you have to admit that was pretty low.

All this Hillary crap is a good distraction from the mess W. has made of Iraq:
- The Bush administration is significantly lowering expectations of what can be achieved in Iraq, recognizing that the United States will have to settle for far less progress than originally envisioned during the transition due to end in four months, according to U.S. officials in Washington and Baghdad.
The United States no longer expects to see a model new democracy, a self-supporting oil industry or a society where the majority of people are free from serious security or economic challenges, U.S. officials say.
"What we expected to achieve was never realistic given the timetable or what unfolded on the ground," said a senior official involved in policy since the 2003 invasion. "We are in a process of absorbing the factors of the situation we're in and shedding the unreality that dominated at the beginning."
...
"We set out to establish a democracy, but we're slowly realizing we will have some form of Islamic republic," said another U.S. official familiar with policymaking from the beginning, who like some others interviewed would speak candidly only on the condition of anonymity. "That process is being repeated all over."
...
"The most thoroughly dashed expectation was the ability to build a robust self-sustaining economy. We're nowhere near that. State industries, electricity are all below what they were before we got there," said Wayne White, former head of the State Department's Iraq intelligence team who is now at the Middle East Institute. "The administration says Saddam ran down the country. But most damage was from looting [after the invasion], which took down state industries, large private manufacturing, the national electric" system.
WaPo
What a mess.

Res ipsa loquiter, the below is from an interview with Cindy Sheehan, the....uh.....not-moron. She is 48. That is a fact. That means that when the Vietnam war protests were in full swing from 1969-1973, when Vietnam was the top story on the news and in newspapers everyday, when there was nary a community nationwide that was not touched by the loss, when Cindy Sheehan was 12-16 years of age, SHE COULDN'T FIND VIETNAM ON A MAP!!!.
INTERVIEWER: Yikes ... Have you been an activist in the past? Say during Vietnam?
CINDY SHEEHAN: I was in elementary school and jr. high school during Vietnam. I have never been an activist before.
INTERVIEWER: You were an activist or you were too young to play a part?
CINDY SHEEHAN: I was too young to even know where Vietnam was.
I hereby apologize to the Scarecrow.
eta: fwiw, i was of single digits of age during the above referenced period and I knew where Vietnam was.

10 years from now, Iraq will be stable and relatively free (for the ME). Hillary will still be a liar. I will hold you to having to apologize to this community and the blogosphere for your postings such as the above and the whole Hank/deletion thing.

No one wants to openly criticize a pained, grieving parent. I sure don't - and I don't have kids.
That being said - that is the reason why so many anti-Bush groups have rallied around and are propping up Sheehan. She is virtually untouchable in the political sense*
But this sideshow has now become the main act circus. Sheehan, with each new missive and each daily article in the Huffington Post, is sounding more and more like the "crackpot" "puppet" so many are now willing to publicly announce her to be.
Almost all of the posters here all well-read and savvy, so - unlike most of the public, who get their news from the MSM - everyone here probably knows that:
1) She met with Bush previously (unlike most grieving parents of dead or injured American soldier heroes) and publicly declared the meeting as a "gift"
2) Her son - ever the dupe apparently - had re-enlisted after his intial tour. A knowing decision by someone who had seen combat and knew the consequences
3) On the first day of her "protest" at Crawford, she was indeed given an audience to several high ranking Admin officials. This is hardly the "cold shoulder" the MSM claims, and probably more than she deserves given her motives.
4) As Sheehan continues to be supported by the fringe weirdos, her diatribes become worse. As of today, Bush (the "lying sonafabitch" she wants to meet, again) killed her son, not the insurgents. Worldwide terrorism will end when the Israelis leave Palestine. We are fighting a war for Israel. The sympathy she garnished initially among many - if not most - Americans, as a grieving mother, has been lost to the venom.
5) Her surviving children want her home. Her inlaws have publicly distanced themselves from her. And her husband has apparently filed for divorce.
I feel for this woman and I concur that the scarecrow photos are mean-spirited. But so is the utter manipulation by the anti-Bush forces of this "untouchable" victim.
In this 3 ring circus, she has become Emmett Kelly.
*recall my favorite pet topic - the grieving widow, Jean Carnahan.

If you're going to continue to libel Ty with these deletion accusations, I'd like to see the proof.
Given his blog and that he's a "public figure", the burden of truth is on you, pal.

Truth is an absolute defence. I was not falsely accusing Ty of deletions. I was referencing the Hank/deletion thing, which is the "thing" comprised of Hank's accusations, which accusations are a matter of fact.
Your RiNO cred is showing here.
eta: I am also sensing a bit of post-insurgency stress disorder. Odd with the cease fire agreement and all.....

Gore and company would love to give the keys to the shining city on the hill to the Islamofascists in a public ceremony of surrender. Based on the above, you would prefer to leave the key under the welcome mat and sneak out the back door. Sad. Pathetic. Sadly pathetic.

I've been kind of out of it for the past few days, and haven't been watching the news, etc. Even on the best of days, I get most of my news off the Internet. So this morning, after reading Penske's (and your) posts I figured I'd check out this media circus. Nothing on Yahoo. Nothing on CNN. Finally, on CBS News' site, buried down at the bottom, was an article on the protestors that mentions Sheehan.
Go ahead guys, get yourself worked up about Sheehan. Convince yourself she's crazy, or unworthy of respect as a defiler of her son's memory. She probably is both. Go ahead and convince yourself that nothing she has to say has any meaning, that people who disagree with the war are haters of America. Pull yourself further right, and divorce yourself from reality a little more.
It apparently takes quite a lot of crap for the good people of the US to finally get fed up with conservatives, but you guys are doing a great job reaching for it. Stay on message. It gives me hope for change.

Yes, try to tar us with the David Duke thing. Very effective.
He's still your guy.
(Oh and here's a preemptory bringing up of Byrd. Whatever. I think we can mainly agree that I am mostly right that far, far more senior Republicans genuinely agree that America would be a better place had Strom and the Dixiecrats prevailed.)
