On a different topic, do you guys have rules or moderators here? Some of these posts are pretty strange.
Rule #1: There are no rules
Rule #2: Ty, the moderator, doesn't enforce the rules that exist.
Rule #3: He enforces rules he makes up.

BTW, Penske may have a different view on this.

2. Also there is the made rule on not violating Fed statutes, but that one doesnt apply to Mary Landrieu.

You've been saying this for two weeks, but what in the heck do you mean? Why do you think she threatened the President?

Or, is this a Federalist-style Alien and Sedition Act kind of thing?

Odd that someone in Chicago would call a crazy, screamin/ranting bum on the street corner, which corner is 2200 miles away, when someone as substantive and capable as you is right there in his own backyard (maybe in the same bldg, who knows?), if not for rep then for a referral. Perhaps he doesn't know no one listens to me anymore.
Alright already. Here's a buck. For the record, I already bought this month's Streetwise, so you're lucky.

Yes, you are. Story:

Back when I did my first IM, in my youth, slightly younger than you are now, I wasn't sure what to expect. Turns out I had an affinity for the distance but I misjudged how to race on the run. I was in 5th AG/18th OA at mile 20 and my legs ran out of juice. I was struggling to hold 8:30s, but it was a better than expected showing and there was no one around me, so I figured I would coast in. At mile 23.5 I heard footsteps. Merde! From the sounds, this person was going to get me, hard. Acknowledging my weakness, I looked back. IT WAS AN OLD GUY. In my youthful innocence, he looked old enough to be my dad. I felt nauseaus. He passed me. I hung on his heels for 50 metres and was dropped. Like a red headed step-childe.

Turns out he set the World Masters record for IM that day. It held for 9 or 10 years. Respect your elders. Punk!!
I've been dusted by old farts.

Was that an assertion or a translation?

I guess the new question to ask Roberts is whether he's also a pussy.

Spree: goddamned California federal judges can't leave well enough alone.

"If one person criticizes [Louisiana officials], or says one more thing, including the president of the United States, he will hear from me - one more word about it after this show airs and I - I might likely have to punch him - literally," Landrieu railed to host George Stephanopoulos.

The Secret Service was provided with a full transcript of the ABC broadcast, including Landrieu's incendiary remarks. Spokeswoman Lewis promised to find out whether the agency intended to launch an investigation after reviewing the transcript.

The agency took a tougher stance on Senatorial threats in 1994, when then-North Carolina Sen. Jesse Helms joked that President Clinton "had better watch out if he comes down here. He better have a bodyguard."

After a media firestorm erupted - with some pundits complaining that Helms had committed treason - the Secret Service swung into action, launching a full blown investigation into whether Helms' statement indicated that someone in North Carolina planned to assassinate the president.

Apparently threats against the executive branch aren't taken as seriously as they once were. Another sign of how the Dimwits have undermined the laws and moral fabric of our nation.

Unwise choice of words.

So, what federal statute does she violate by saying that _if_ anyone, including the President, says "X" she "might likely have to punch [that person]"?

This will go as far as Bush wants it to go (and it has). He'll get to this right after he fires Karl Rove for outing Valerie Plame. (I guess it depends on what your definition of "is" is.)

BTW -- What duress was Jesse Helms under when he said the words you quote, which specifically and only addressed the President of the United States and arguably implied far more harm than a punch from a soft middle-aged woman?

Or that the Secret Service under Bush has turned into a bunch of pussies. Either or.

Seems like the real pussies here are the unnamed plaintiffs. Newdow is raving lunatic destined to get smacked down by the babyjesus when his number comes up, but at least he had the balls to go on the record with his filthy trashing of the American way. What are these unnamed plaintiffs scared of? The babyjesus' wrath? He sees them, named or not and the day of judgment is almost upon us. Verily.

What exactly is he "stepping up" to? If he is truly responsible for the failure of his administration to adequately respond to this disaster, he should be stepping down.
I second that.
