Good. Egypt gets lots of our money, but there's one mideast country that gets more than them. Can you name the country?

If OPEC is willing to accept new members, including one that does not actually produce any oil, that might work. Though, it seems like most of what OPEC does is set the price of oil and the amount each member country may produce; do they do transfer payments too?
Do you think the WTO should have the power to dictate that certain countries make cash payments in exchange for nothing to other countries? I would think giving it that kind of authority would make you uncomfortable.

I'm honestly getting the feeling that this one might have just been sent back from Syria.
Debka has an interesting recent article on smuggling stuff into Israel, and they are at least implying that someone or other is testing Israel's defenses with some of the recent attacks. They explicitly posit that its being coordinated from Syria, Lebanon and/or Iran.
If there is a second term, I'd still put decent odds on Syria getting taken out, along with Lebanon. Fluffy used to argue that it would be Iran first.

We don't have a military large enough to occupy Iraq, and you want to pile another country on their plate?

Ty! I'm sure by the end of this year democracy will be in place and functioning well in Iraq and we will be able to withdraw all but a few prison guards.

Possible. I think that was SH's plan - send them to Syria and then send them back as needed.

Finding the WMDs complicates things. See they are small and easy to hide and easy to transport back and forth to/from Syria.

Why would we want to "occupy" anything ever again. We seem to do much better at the invade thingy. And our casualties actually seem lower when we keep our troops on the move.
So maybe we could just do a continuing invasion of countries in the M.E. Maybe a circuit, like Iran, Syria, Lebanon, back to Syria, than Iraq, Sudan, Saudi Arabia, oops... did I just say Saudi Arabia?, and then Iraq and start over again!
We could call it something like, like, ROLLING THUNDER!!
ETA: JFC, not one smile even?

Obviously, the whole rationale for the war has been vindicated by the discovery of an old artillery shell with sarin in it. Hussein was an imminent threat to the United States, and a link to Islamist terrrorists surely is not far behind. Whether or not we establish a stable regime there, let alone a democracy, is really besides the point now that they found this artillery shell. It's a big day for the United States, but, more importantly, a really big day for the White House.

Jay Jaroch:
- I WANT TO PARTY WITH RUSH!....Except I’m not sure I’m a big enough freak. I know I’m late on this, but between the pill-popping and Rush’s admission that he looks at the pictures from Abu Ghraib and sees people “having a good time” and blowing off steam, I can’t tell if Rush is the administration’s staunchest and most mindless defender or the biggest 24-hour circuit party animal the right wing has to offer. I’m beginning to think it may be the latter. And I say good for him. What a release it must be for a man so bound to conservative convention to eat a fistful of pills, throw on a leash, put something in his ass, and just party.
Look for Rush’s new book coming out this fall, “The Way Things Ought to Be Lubed.”
