That's all. Carry on.

I agree. I am having a party tonight and the first liberal fucker who casts blame is going to get blamed for dividing our nation in time of collective tragedy. And they will also get pours out of the cheap wine bottle.
babyjesus weeps.

I didn't see much of that the first few days. It was only when it became clear that the federal relief effort was not getting it done that people began to lose it. I mean, the people who lost everything in New Orleans -- that's a tragedy. But the people who are still there, living on highway overpasses, and haven't eaten since Sunday -- that's just so beyond wrong.

The fact that racism exists (although I should note I don't think Bush is a racist) shouldn't be a rationale to perpetuate the divide. Really sad.
2. NBC's cya is nice, but the cynic in me says, someone's business manager and record company made some frantically pleading calls prior to NBC redacting the west coast feed. Especially since someone has a new album now.
3. I'll still buy his album He got a dope beat that I can shake my bootie to!!! Word!

I do not know this West fellow's music, but if you recommend them perhaps I should give them a listen.

You probably know some of his songs, between producing and his debut album he is ubiquitous in the hip hop/pop crossover genre. His big hit of last year which he performed on just about every awards show that has music, but the Oscars and the Tonys, was "Jesus Walks". I am uncertain if he meant the 33 yo Jesus or the baby varietal.
He also produced Common's latest album, Be, which is very good.

Where's the UN in all this? When a country isn't able to take care of its people, isn't the UN supposed to solve the crisis?

I heard on the radio that we're taking aid from about 20 other countries.

Which is not to say the UN, though, right? Not that I think it's the UN's role for us, but just saying.

Yesterday, offers of help were "reiterated."

I never thought I'd be so sad to see him go. I will miss him. *sniff*

I didn't see in that story where we had refused the help, though I daresay there would be criticism either way.
eta: I appreciate Annan's acknowledgement that the U.S. has always been the most generous in giving aid to others.

Look, I know what you're thinking, but I didn't have anything to do with it. You've got nothing on me. Hang it off your nose, coppers.
Ask penske.

I edited to remove political bent. I would think if offer of help accepted, no need for reiteration, would instead be saying "starting process of working together" or something, but whatever. I really highly highly doubt that the UN is going to say "screw you, United
States." Don't bite hand, etc.

Hey, is it fair to edit to remove whole thrust of post? ![Wink](http://www.lawtalkers.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif) Yes, agree, UN had to make at least a token offer. Which, frankly, we may need, if not cash, at least persons. But we're a bit proud for that.
