A. You think I didn't search first?
B. You assumed the risk by reading out-of-area boards. The FB Cool kids have access to the Recorder.

Yet you still posted, compounding the problem. Or not. But who knows. But I have concluded you are a bad man, easements by necessity or not.

OK - I'll bite -- WTF does that mean?
Also, you SF'ers are a lucky bunch. I was out there recently (SF and environs), and boy, is it beautiful. Why would anyone ever leave? I suppose I'll have to ask RT -- and she'd better have a damned good reason!

This Thread Is Worthless WithOut Pictures.
Because it's freaking expensive here.
Plus, I have a friend coming to town and she wants to go to a nice restaurant. I think I've got her convinced to go to Gary Danko, on Sidd's previous recommendation, but she's asking about Nobb Hill in the Mark Hopkins. No one here has ever been there. I think that's saying something. But she really liked the one in Vegas and wants to go there. Has anyone been?

1) Weather in July is foggy and cold
2) You cannot buy decent Italian bread. Hell, they don't even know what real Italian bread looks like in North Beach.
3) See #2 re: Pizza
4) Weekday sporting events start at 4pm; MNF starts at 6pm
5) There is a 2 party political system - Demoocrats and Socialists.

Send her to Boulevard or the Dining Room at the Ritz-Carlton.
Gary Danko is great - but overkill

Not as expensive as my present location. What a bunch of whiners!!
(Although, I have heard that the "most expensive city" thing went by the wayside after the tech bubble popped.)

The Rent v. Buy value differential is far greater out here than in NYC.
And an ordinary shoeshine costs 7 bucks
Otherwise, NYC is still more expensive in every way.

The service is sketchy at Boulevard. And yours is the second rec for the Ritz. Is it the food, the atmosphere, service?

Never had a problem at Boulevard.
Service at Dining Room is rated 1 in the city.
And - given your pop culture proclivities - the chef was the first American to dethrone Chef Sakai on the original Iron Chef.

You heard wrong. Although it's no Tokyo, I think the only thing that got less expensive after the bubble burst was Aeron chairs, and that was only at the flea markets.

2. NY Italian is not all Italian. There is plenty good I-tie food in SF. Ask Dimaggio's nephews.
