Cherry Blossoms
Excellent timing. I'm scheduled to be in DC during the first week of April.
Should I bring an umbrella so I can poke the tourists during my morning runs around the Mall?

Can anyone recommend a DC-area MLS search engine? The Washington Post has one, but it's full of duplicate listings and the pictures on it are crappy small.
Also, if anyone wants to fire up the ol' Maryland/Virginia controversy, I'm hella interested all of a sudden.

I take it the job situation worked itself out? What are your parameters (do you care about schools? what length commute is acceptable? public transportation or driver? etc.)? I'm probably not to be of much help, as I moved out of the DC area many years ago (and, I'll note, I was much poorer then), but I would think it would help those here that have current knowledge to know what your priorities are. Good luck.

Seems to be the best. For some reason, I can get addresses on some computers, but not others. use longandfoster.com if you need the address.

Since this board is active today anyway
WTF is up with the L'Enfant Plaza Hotel? When I google it, all the results come up that it is "Loews L'Enfant Plaza Hotel," and a link to loewshotels.com even come up sometimes (depending on whether I google the name or the address), but the list of hotels at loewshotels.com does not include any hotel of that name. Anyone have any clue what happened to it or, even better, a link to a website?

I told her the Willard or the Hay Adams. Drain some cash from that travel account.
Did you have a sex-fecta for awhile?
Have you ever hit the sept-fecta?

If you're going to post here, the least you could do is add your two cents on the burning Maryland vs. Virginia controversy.

I recently had occassion to check out home prices in Maryland. Hol. ly. Shit.
3 bed townhomes way the fuck out are going for $600k. Granted, they're pimped out, but you can't get anything that isn't fully optioned, either, if you're buying new. The TH two doors down from me (which lacks my TH's fourth bedroom due to vageries of topography) just sold for 3x what I paid for mine in 2000 (this is somewhat extreme - my neighborhood is older and is under a renaissance from the nearby construction of a new townhome community - the folks who lose the lottery over there come over here and decide they can spend $100k remodeling and still come out ahead)
Virginia is looking a bit more reasonable right now. The prices over there seem a little lower.
