Sidd, as one of the wryest and wittiest posters on the board, you can do better. Given your rare appearances, this is a real disappointment.

Sidd was just posting the truth. I don't think he intended it to be funny. There is nothing funny about the 49ers.

Gary Danko is great - but overkill

Dining Room was booked solid, Gary Danko was booked until 10:00.
Ended up at the Boulevard and had a nice bottle of Pinot with the salad course and a couple of bottles of 02 Spottswoode with dinner - which I highly recommend. Was the best Cabernet I've ever had. The best.

The word for four and the word for death are the same. There are many buildings in Japan that do not have a fourth floor. There is rarely a four in an address. Ku (pronounced keu) is nine in Japanese. I do not know the word for torture but I had never heard that it was similar to nine. I never saw a building without a ninth floor. Do you know what the word (or Konji) is for torture?

No, the elevator was not that detailed. So what do the Japanese call the 49ers? The Death Torturers is kind of cool, even if it doesn't really make any sense.

If I ever own a football team, I think I just found my name for them.
(And maybe in Japan, they will call them the Super-terrific Death Torturers.)

You should dip down the vintage chart to '97.

They prounouce it phonetically but they do not have all the vowels and consonents that we have. In addition, they never have two consonants in a row (except for the n).
It is pronounced:
san fu ran si su ko fo ti ni nas

But they put a killer number of vowels together to make up for the consonants. I used to have a friend named Eiichi.

But Spanky said there can't be two consonants in a row unless one is an "n." Git-a-mo?
