Give me a fucking break. Have you looked at exit polls? Trump has run for President twice now. There is all sorts of data on this. It's not a secret.

I read 3 articles Flower posted about how exit polls show Trump voters, in primaries, were higher income than the national average. Higher than average misses the point. Then you said Trump voters are higher income than the average white people. I asked which of the several articles you linked show this. I don’t have a dog in this fight, but I would like to see anything that shows higher income, not compared to average, but compared to white people. I am not your enemy Ty. I have a genuine curiosity.

Also, I feel the gratuitous cursing should be beneath someone entrusted to run this forum.

Trump won > $100K income by 12 points.
Biden won $50K > $100K by 15 points.
Biden won < $50K by 11 points.

I agree that's not the straight correlation I described (and shame on my for trying to describe a complex phenomenon in so few words), but the overall pattern is abundantly clear.

That was literally the first article I found with a Google search. I'm sure there are many, many others. If you have a genuine curiosity, then you will do some of your own Googling. If you are trolling, you will say you are curious to get other people to Google and post so you can poke holes.

So 54% of the 30% of people who make over $100 voted for Trump? So that is 16%, and let’s make it 20% to allot that rich people vote in higher % than poor. Trump got 47% of the popular vote meaning the “rich” were not the majority of his votes. Also still not clear how you say it was clear that richer white people were who got him his votes.

I don’t care about it if they did, I just don’t like to see myriad confused claims by people who do not understand statistics, and their shortcomings.

no one is arguing with you here Ty. But it has nothing to do with what Sebby claimed. You cannot compare to average income. The overwhelmingly black and unfortunately poorer people in Detroit, as an example, voted 96% for Biden. I know that number sounds like it can’t be, but oh, it is true. What sebby is saying is the lower end of income end of white voters ware the rapid Trump people. That’s all.

Oh, and it is fun when you accuse people of trolling but I read it as “I realize I am blabbing again when I should just scroll and not post.” You are not a dumb person but often play one here.

I didn't say the rich were the majority of his votes, or that richer white people got him his votes. Both would be stupid things to say, because the rich are a small proportion of the electorate.

What I did say, and what at least Sebby seems to agree with, is that Trump voters were more affluent than Biden voters, and that having more money makes you more likely to vote for Trump. In other words, as Adder said, Trump voters were not the economically downtrodden.

Earlier today you didn’t say he got a higher percent of richer white people than he got of poorer white people?

And from jump I agreed/accept his voters average income is higher than the national average. So you are now agreeing with me?

That is hard to square with the actual data, which is that Biden won people with income of less than $100K by double digits, while Trump won people with income of more than that by double digits.

Take voters who make less than $50K. Biden won them 55-44. Assume, generously, that a fifth of those voters aren't white, and that every single of one of those voters went for Biden. Take away a fifth of Biden's 55%, and you end up with a tie. That's not rabid Trump people.

I didn't say that, but I did say that as white people have more income, they are more likely to vote for Trump. If by richer, you mean income > $100K, Trump won 54% of those voters, white and otherwise.

My gawd I made a lot of typos in that post. You know how college sorority sisters synch their periods? Maybe being around Adder so much is making me do more typos?

I never respond to the same post twice, but you do realize exit polls are closer to anecdotes (which flower criticized) than data?

Hank, if the ISLT gets approved by the USSC, I know you won't be allowed to vote in Michigan, but will you be allowed to post?

Silver lining! You can hock that cemetery plot in Jersey you pre-bought. Whenever you feel bad just relocate the box so you're next to the Ganges!
