DING!
Senator Sam Brownback says he and other conservatives have ``a great deal of skepticism'' about Harriet Miers, President Bush's latest nominee for the Supreme Court.
The Kansas Republican is disappointed Bush did not pick a candidate with more of a track record. He had urged Bush to nominate someone who opposes the Roe vs. Wade decision legalizing abortion. Brownback compared the nomination of Miers -- Bush's White House counsel -- to that of Supreme Court Justice David Souter. Souter was nominated to the high court by the first President Bush and was believed to be a conservative, but he later turned out to be liberal on the bench. Brownback is a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee. If Brownie dings her, the bottom will fall out fast. Pray it so, please babyjesuschristsuperstar. |

It's a Class B misdemeanor. I don't know what that means. I think it's pretty funny that the intended parents of people involved in assisted reproduction have to pass the adoption placement tests -- usu people who can afford to have assisted reproduction are pretty well off and really WANT the kid, unlike people who get pregnant by accident from fucking. |

BREAKING.......
By 1979, Harriet Miers, then in her mid-30s, had accomplished what some people take a lifetime to achieve. She was a partner at Locke Purnell Boren Laney & Neely, one of the most prestigious law firms in the South. But she still felt something was missing in her life. The NEW YORK TIMES is set to splash the "something" on Page Ones on Wednesday, newsroom sources tell the DRUDGE REPORT. "She decided that she wanted faith to be a bigger part of her life," Hecht said. "One evening she called me to her office and said she was ready to make a commitment," to accept the babyJesusChristsuperstar as her savior and be born again, Hecht said. Miers became an evangelical Christian and began identifying more with the Republican Party than with the Democrats who had long held sway over Texas politics. MORE TO FOLLOW......... |

The problem with the far right is that there's no credible threat to vote differently. The only threat is to stay home. So all that means is that the moderates are the ones up for grabs. It moves the Rs back to the center. If the babyjesusRs say "fuck you" then the rest of the Rs say "fuck you back, we'll go back to grab the moderates with budget-cutting, limited gov't policies" Maybe they can do it, maybe not, but it doesn't help your babyjesus. |
